The Yorkshire handler claimed the famous five-furlong handicap with Desert Law in 2015 and the veteran sprinter will bid for a second victory this weekend.

The nine-year-old endured a largely disappointing campaign in 2016, but proved he is no back number with an impressive comeback success at Musselburgh last month.

Midgley also hopes to saddle Line Of Reason and Olivia Fallow.

He said: "The plan as things stand is for all three of them to run. Hopefully it stays dry as a deluge of rain would be a negative for all of them, to be honest.

"We lost Desert Law last year, but I was very happy with him at Musselburgh and his work has been excellent since.

"Line Of Reason hasn't been firing on all cylinders this year, but I thought his run at York the other day was pretty good considering the rain they had, which is everything he doesn't want.

"Olivia Fallow has always threatened to win a big one and I was pleased with how she ran at Redcar last time.

"There are no negatives at this stage and for any trainer who has a lot of sprinters, the Dash is a race you want to win.

"Without wanting to sound greedy, I hope it's our turn again."
