Alan King's Grade One-winning hurdler made a faultless start to his new vocation when he won at the same track just over three weeks ago.

But this time it all went wrong. Approaching the seventh fence, having jumped safely prior to that, Barry Geraghty's mount appeared to meet the obstacle perfectly well, only for his front legs to buckle on landing.

Yanworth subsequently galloped away carefree as the race continued, once or twice causing minor interference to the other three runners.

At the business end, Noel Williams' Briery Queen, a decent mare in her own right, held off Chameron by three and a quarter lengths at odds of 8-1.

King told Press Association Sport: "He's absolutely fine, thankfully. He just landed a touch steep and came down, it happens.

"At the end of the day he didn't stand up and it has messed up our plans somewhat.

"I'll have to get home and have a good think about what we do next."
