Sam King’s Horse Racing Tips Today

Daily tipster Sam King is back with four selections on this fine Friday…

Sandown may have failed its morning inspection but there is still plenty of action to get stuck into with Doncaster and Perth hosting afternoon racing. The Punchestown Festival continues while Southwell and Chepstow both hold seven-race cards over the jumps this evening.

A trip to Doncaster is where we have to go for our first selection of the day. With an official rating of 83, it's clear to see why Supreme King heads the market in the Free Tips Daily On attheraces.com Maiden Stakes (3.25). Richard Hannon's runner didn't receive the clearest of passages when fifth in a competitive three-year-old handicap at Newmarket's Craven Meeting last start and only faded late once in the clear. The form of his Goodwood second in July last year has worked out well and this son of Kingman can get off the mark at the eighth attempt with the drop back to 7f a big positive.

Selection: Supreme King – General 13/8

On the same card, Hope You Can Run looks worth chancing at a bigger price in the Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap (4.00). Charlie Johnston's charge has to give weight all round but looks value to do so at 16/1. He contested some hot company at two including when sixth in a Newmarket maiden on the July course that has worked out extremely well. The form of his Doncaster second one start later is also solid with the winner, Oviedo, now rated 96. That said, it's his final run of the campaign last year that really catches the eye as he plugged on nicely to finish third behind a pair of now 100-plus-rated rivals on HQ's Rowley Mile. There could easily be plenty more improvement to come from him now stepping up to 1m2f for the first time and I'd be surprised if he didn't give you a good run for your money at the prices.

Selection: Hope You Can Run – General 16/1

A switch of codes is in order for our third selection and I'm expecting White Rhino to bring up the four-timer in the Andrew Roy Memorial Handicap Hurdle (6.15) at Southwell this evening. Following three quiet runs in novice and maiden hurdles the seven-year-old hasn't looked back since entering handicap company and arrives unbeaten in this sphere. The Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero-trained contender made it 2-2 over course and distance with a comfortable three-and-three-quarter-length success last month and a 10lb hike in the weights may not be enough to stop this progressive type.

Selection: White Rhino – General 13/8

The fourth and final selection comes from Perth where Henry Daly's Bridge North looks the one to beat in the Edith Bowman At Perth Ladies Day Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (3.00). The Shropshire-based trainer is currently operating at a healthy 20% strike-rate for the last fortnight, but his current form reads much better than that. The yard's last seven runners have yielded finishing positions of 3321121Bridge North always promised to make a better chaser and duly got off the mark at the first attempt over fences when scoring snugly at Newbury in March. Although he only faced two rivals both held a chasing experience edge over him, and the son of Sholokhov would have learnt plenty that day. This stiff 3m on soft ground should be right up his street and he looks fair value at 9/4 to remain unbeaten over the larger obstacles.

Selection: Bridge North – General 9/4
