Mark Bradstock, best known as the trainer of Gold Cup winner Coneygree, has passed away aged 66.
Based in Oxfordshire, Bradstock trained alongside his wife Sara and achieved big race success with Coneygree in the 2015 Gold Cup, becoming the first novice chaser to win the Blue Riband in 41 years. He continued to record victories at the top level in subsequent years, including the Hennessy in 2011 with Carruthers and Step Back in the 2018 bet365 Gold Cup.
Nico De Boinville, successful aboard Coneygree in the Gold Cup, led the tributes on the social media platform X, with a statement: "Thinking of the Bradstock family. I owe them all so much, they played an integral part in getting me going. Mark will be hugely missed."
