  • Saturday's Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris winner Sosie is expected to target the Prix Niel in September, ran over the same course and distance as the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. It is  a race which has been successfully used as a stepping stone for 'Arc' glory before by trainer Andre Fabre, who has won the contest eleven times.

  • Newton Abbot were forced to abandon Monday's card after 5mm of rain caused false ground by the winning post. The meeting was due to include the 'Well Done England Euro Champions 2024 Handicap Chase', named in hopeful anticipation by sponsor Matt Bailey last week.

  • Trainer David Menuisier's frustrating season continued on Saturday when Tamfana could only manage third in the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris. The French-born Sussex-based trainer has been close to tasting Group 1 success on multiple occasions this season, and will continue his quest over a shorter distance with Tamfana. The filly could target the ten-furlong Prix de l'Opera on 'Arc' day.

  • A Lilac Rolla produced another good performance when dead-heating for third in Friday's Group 1 Falmouth Stakes behind Porta Fortuna and will continue to race at the top level for the remainder of the season. Trainer Paddy Twomey is looking ahead to possible tilts at the Group 1 Matron Stakes at Leopardstown and the Prix de la Foret at Longchamp.

  • French jockey Gerald Mosse will officially begin his training career on 1 September in Chantilly, having announced his retirement from the saddle over the weekend. Winner of over 90 Group One races worldwide through his extensive career, the fifty-seven-year-old will train from his own Manoir des Sangliers, a forty-box yard.
