Paul Nicholls will be hoping Bravemansgame can go one better than when reappearing in the Grade 2 bet365 Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby twelve months ago. A comfortable winner of the contest on his return in 2022, Bravemansgame found a race-fit Gentlemansgame too strong last season.

Mouse Morris, who was the trainer responsible for inflicting defeat on Bravemansgame last year, will attempt to repeat the feat with French Dynamite. The latter arrives on the back of a comfortable success in a Grade 3 chase at Punchestown and will also face the reopposing Gordon Elliott-trained Conflated, who unseated his rider at the first that day.

Dan Skelton expressed his concerns about the ground being too quick for Grey Dawning at Wetherby this Saturday, but last year's Turners Novices' Chase winner also featured among the seven final declarations. The Skelton-trained grey is as short as 16/1 for the Cheltenham Gold Cup in March and a general 5/2 chance to make a successful return to action in the bet365 Charlie Hall Chase.

Emma Lavelle's Summer Cup Handicap Chase scorer Hang In There will step up in class, while Brian Hughes has been booked to ride the 2023 Brown Advisory Novices' Chase winner The Real Whacker for the first time.

Veteran chaser Sam Brown completes the shortlist.

Elsewhere on the card, Dashel Drasher will hope to go a few spots better than when third in the bet365 Hurdle (Registered As The West Yorkshire Hurdle) than he did twelve months ago. Jeremy Scott's evergreen eleven-year-old will take on six rivals, including Irish raiders Sandor Clegane and Beacon Edge, with Kateira and Thunder Rock also featuring. Strong Leader was a notable absentee from the line-up.
