The team return with two selections from Fakenham’s Sunday jumps card…

Today's horse racing tips.

With two next-time-out winners emerging from Simply Gorgeous' last race, Neil King's charge ought to be a major player in the 2m Win 1M With BetMGM's Golden Goals Mares' Handicap Hurdle (12:43) at Fakenham on Sunday.

The aforementioned effort produced a top speed figure of 78 (ATR), which suggests that the mare is on an upward trajectory in spite of only producing two wins from twenty-five appearances across both codes. With this in mind, a current official rating of 77 could prove to be an underestimation of her current abilities if she has improved in the last month.

Being flat-bred. the five-year-old's best performances have come with a bit less give underfoot, so the dry forecast for the Norfolk track must be considered a positive.

The 5/1 generally available seems a fair assessment of Simply Gorgeous' chances, who could prove to be well-treated by the handicapper in time.

SIMPLY GORGEOUS – WIN – 5/1

Samourai One was solid on the clock when runner-up last time and can make his presence felt again advancing in grade in the 3m5f Sky Bet Club Stayers' Handicap Chase (14:13) at Fakenham on Sunday.

Lucy Wadham's gelding registered a career best speed figure of 86 (ATR) on that occasion, which would suggest that there is still some improvement remaining. The form of that heat has proven solid, with the winner Lunar Contact going on to follow up off top weight next time out – a performance which merited a rating of 102. While resolutely beaten, the form of the race means that an official evaluation of 94 could now prove generous.

On his penultimate start at Fontwell, the seven-year-old was a fast finishing third, with the energy distribution data suggesting that he rallied strongly in the closing stages. This is reaffirmed in a final speed registered of 27.38mph (ATR) through the line: an indication that the extra distance should suit

Lucy Wadham's form has been strong over the last two weeks, returning a strike rate of 30% and a P/L of £24.30 to a £1 level stake. Samourai One could represent some value around 15/8.

SAMOURAI ONE – WIN – 15/8
