National Hunt racing in the UK remains disrupted after Warwick were forced to abandon their Classic Chase fixture on Saturday.

Clerk of the course Nessie Chanter had remained hopeful throughout the week that the Midlands venue would be able to overcome adversity during the cold snap, but was forced to abandon following an 8am inspection on Thursday.

Kempton is the only National Hunt fixture that could take place on Saturday, with officials at the course reporting that the waterlogging near the lake bend was beginning to recede. Wetherby remains unraceable and abandoned their Saturday fixture earlier in the week.

There is some positive news for National Hunt fans though, with the British Horseracing Authority adding an additional fixture at Ffos Las on Sunday – including the rescheduled Towton Novices' Chase. Conditions at the Welsh track look amenable ahead of the weekend, whereas Kelso's Sunday fixture is subject to an 8am inspection on Friday.
