Big Bucks amazing 17th consecutive win.

3 minute read

Big Bucks seemed to be untroubled at Aintree as he went imperiously to the front two from home and then loped away from the rest of the field.

It is a fantastic achievement and judging by his jumping fluency and the ease with which he won the Liverpool Hurdle Gr 1 again, shouldn't be too much stopping him from doing it all again next year. For the record Crack Away Jack at 33/1 was 9 lengths back in second and Across the Bay third at 50/1.

The 4yo Juvenile Hurdle Gr 1 saw Grumeti turn the tables on Countrywide Flame but only a length in it, with the third home Sadler's Risk 21 lengths behind them.

The Betfred Bowl Chase Gr 1 saw Riverside Theatre pulled up - possibly didn't like the soft going, leaving the way clear for a shock win by Follow the Plan at 50/1. Burton Court ran well for second in a tight go for the minors with Hunt Ball a neck back in third, Medermit a nose away in fourth and Nacarat fifth.

The Gr 1 Novices' Chase saw Menorah win by 7 lengths to Cristal Bonus with favourite Al Ferof 5l further back in third and Pepite Rose 4th will all 5 runners finishing the race.
