After the withdrawal of Parish Hall, the 2000 Guineas was wide open and it the O'Brien runner Power who got the verdict - he wasn't in the top quotes on Friday but went off at 5/1. Foxtrot Romeo was second on 33/1 with Reply 3/4 length back and early leader Daddy Long Legs a neck away fourth.
Hermeval was one paged and Takar just flat. Born To Sea was fifth.The Equestrian Stakes was no problem for Emulous, with 33/1 shot One Spirit second, Alanza third and Law On The Range fourth.
Sunday saw a big upset in the 1000 Guineas with Mick Channon's Samitar on 12/1 getting a clear victory over Ishvana 33/1 and Princess Sinead 25/1. All the early favourites failed to flourish.
