The G2 Premier Bowl is the highlight of Sunday's card.
It also includes the Class 2 HKJC 140th Anniversary Cup and the televising of the Kikuka Sho from Japan.
The Anniversary Cup is Race 5 over 1600m and is quite an open race with current favourite being Patch of Theta on 3.3 for Lui-Bowman. He's been very consistent and deserves the breakthrough. Karma is next on 3.8 for Fownes-Ho and then Stunning Peach, a relative newcomer on the scene, on 6.1 for Cruz-Purton. All three have been working well. If you want a roughie try Chiu Chow Spirit on 13.0 for Man-Badel.
The Premier Bowl is over 1200m and there is a very short priced favourite here in Ka Ying Rising on 1.4 for Hayes-Purton. We like the horse a lot but don't like the price however he could be a safe anchor for multiples adding California Spangle on a very generous 8.7 for Cruz-Avdulla and an even more generous 15.0 for Beauty Waves Ng-Chadwick.
There might be a drop or two of rain during the day but nothing too serious and it will be hot – 31 forecast by the Observatory.
