FORETELLER (Chris Waller) - Yet another talented import in Sydney's leading stable. Impressive at Randwick last Saturday and destined for better wins - perhaps an Epsom Hcp or other mile races.

ECHOES OF HEAVEN (Mick Price) - Hard to miss his big finish in the Grand Prix at Eagle Farm last Saturday. Looked an excellent trial for the Queensland Derby where the big track and 2400m would have been in his favour but has now gone for a spell. Bred to be absolutely anything so might mature again in the Spring for a nice staying race.

Jason Hickson

EPIC DRAGON (John Sadler) - Showed good promise as a three-year-old but just didn't put it together in the top races. Had a good spell and gelded before making return at big odds for the in-form Sadler camp. Charged home from near last to finish fourth in an eye-catching return over 1000m. Handles soft and is a winner to 1500m so there is surely a race for him over the winter months.

'Aspro'

LE SOCIETE (Peter Moody) - She runs Saturday in what is likely to be her last start before a spell. Being by Anabaa out of a Zabeel mare, you can bet the leading Melbourne trainer will have races like the Thousand Guineas as her Spring goal, especially after such an impressive debut. She is exactly the same cross as his Caulfield Guineas winner Anacheeva and if anything, Moody has an even greater rapport getting the fillies and mares to peak. With time figures out of that win you can bet she goes up one of the early elects in the Guineas when markets are released come September.

NOT A DANCER (Matthew Dale) - Debuted at Wagga in a maiden over a 1000m. Well on dead ground, the Not A Single Doubt filly led and bolted in by a lazy seven. The ease of the win suggests she can keep winning and may even get to city grade midweek then perhaps further. Maiden wins can be deceptive but it was hard not to be impressed by the victory.

Wayne Bristow

THE CHEVRON (John Sadler) - From a stable who are going so well, this son of Savabeel might end up giving his sire two massive chances in the blue riband. He worked home well in the Grand Prix and you'd have to say on the bigger track over a furlong further, he looks to be great value in the Derby. The good news is he will handle any conditions and having made him a horse to follow a month ago, we felt a gentle reminder was worthwhile after a top trial.

STRATCOMBE (Mick Price) - Ran well second up off a seven length romp at Wangaratta. Had to go way back, come 48 wide at Caulfield and only got defeated by two fitter horses. Might need the 1200m now but he ticks the wet track box now and can easily pick off a metropolitan race in the near future.
