Winter King might be coming solid now

DETOURS (Peter Snowden) - Backed up her debut win last season with a fine winning return at Canterbury on Wednesday, extending to the line like a filly with the ability to rise to greater heights in the spring as she gets out to more suitable trips. It was a performance that confirmed the suspicion that she is highly regarded by a top stable that boasts ample benchmarks to gauge the potential of promising fillies.

NOBLE PARK (Mike Moroney) - Made his spring return over 1400m at Flemington and settled midfield before working to the line well. Fitter for that and he's up and running early so expect him to feature at a mile to 2000m early on looking to qualify for better races.
'Aspro'
JOLLYWOOD (Robert Hickmott) - Pleasing enough debut and then kept on solidly second-up at Flemington in what could prove to be a handy form race. Expect he will get better and better as he gets beyond a mile and could end up playing a role in some of the 3yo features through the spring.

WINTER KING (David Payne) - While he's now a 5yo having had 25 starts, it was only his third run at 1200m in the Missile Stks. And yet even though it was first up, he ran one of his best races just defeated behind the younger Rain Affair. That may mean he has come back stronger this time in. If a race of similar standing can be found, he could get that win on the board. Remember he has actually managed to run well behind some reasonable sprinters over a 1000m (Black Caviar and Hay List).

THINK MINK (John O'Shea) - Lightly raced four-year-old who started her career in New Zealand and is now with the John O'Shea stable. Had her only Australian start at Canterbury last Wednesday and ran on very well for second behind She's A Rock Star. Looks to have plenty of potential and would not surprise to see her win very soon.

AERONAUTICAL (Lionel Cohen) - Has just kept improving each start to the point of being so impressive at Randwick in the Rosebud. Keeps reeling off nice sectionals from the rear and with the Golden Rose as the eventual target, he should love the pace on at Rosehill. That race has been a get back and run home hard contest over the years and his racing pattern seems perfect. The firmer the track condition the better as well.
