BLACKBOOKERS & TRIALS

Our Blackbook service provides punters with a great way to keep tabs on horses to follow. Remember you can always click on a horse from the Racing And Sports Database to blackbook it or go straight to our Blackbook section and maintain your stable runners there.

We’ve identified a few here from the last week which we think can make us some money in the near future.

Blackbookers

Longeron

Returned with a career peak performance first up when finishing second behind Sistine Demon at Flemington last weekend. A victor of three of his eight career starts to date the son of Lonhro appears on track to take the next step this time in as he should only keep progressing as he is tried over further. Not suited by the sit and sprint nature of the event he really hit the line well and was clearly doing his best work late. Having spaced his rivals by 7L at Seymour when racing third up last time in he is clearly a galloper who will improve with race fitness and is worth following this time in.

The Alfonso

Promising colt from the Chris Waller yard who really impressed late in the piece at Rosehill when only narrowly defeated by Frespanol. Settling last on the turn he really starting motoring late when reeling off comparatively one of the quickest closing sectionals of the day. Having only broken through for his maiden victory two back he appears to have taken plenty of confidence out of that win and should continue to progress further this campaign. In what was just his first attempt beyond 1300m it is clear he is a galloper that will relish the step up in trip down the track and is one to keep a close eye on in the future.

Triallers

Whittington - Monday 16 December @ Randwick

Whittington is one to watch Picture: Racing and Sports
Lightly raced galloper from the Waterhouse camp who bounced back from his Golden Slipper flop with a close up seventh in the Concorde Stakes before narrowly beaten by Barbed in the Heritage Stakes last time in. Sent back to the paddock following that performance he appears to have made further improvement off a break with a very encouraging trial win at Randwick during the week. Bouncing out beautifully on the outside, Berry was more than happy to sit very wide on the three-year-old as he was shaded early on the inside by his stablemates. Upon straightening he quickly took over in front and showed a great turn of foot to quickly sprint clear of his rivals and record one of the quickest times of the morning. Obviously has a bit of talent and is definitely one to follow in this coming preparation.

Eligible Blackbookers Racing This Weekend

Some of the recent runners that have been Blackbooked by us are engaged this weekend and we think should be included in your punting thoughts.

Flemington Race 1 - 1 Adirondack

Lonhro has another 3yo who chases a hatrick of wins. They were both at Kilmore but he has been more impressive the further he has gone. He should be positioned up on the speed and be tough to run down.

Rosehill Race 8 - 14 Suit

After bolting in over the same course and distance, this Snowden 3yo was heavily backed and could only run fifth. Must give him another chance with the big drop in weight and likely a good spot on the map.
