ZEROING IN

We go about finding a weekend special from a statistical angle.

Our Desert Warrior can springboard off the first up run Picture: Racing and Sports
Randwick Race 2 - 4 Our Desert Warrior

Failed to salute first up when favourite but his performance was far better than what it first appeared and he will no doubt strip fitter racing second up. Rated to be just two pounds below his best first up suggests he is likely to springboard off the mark on Saturday and hence appears very well placed in this moderate affair. He is a bit of unknown on the prospect of a wet track however he is out of a Canny Lad mare and his full brother Desert War was proven to perform well in rain affected going. In a race which does appear to lack a lot of speed, he looks to get his own way out in front and he should prove very hard to catch.

Key Trends

  • Our Desert Warrior has placed in three of four attempts over the mile and strikes at 50% racing second up.
