Chris Scholtz - Early Thoughts
R&S Contributing Editor Chris Scholtz takes a look at tomorrow’s Sydney racing.
SELECTIONS
Talented mare having her first full prep for Joe Pride and looks ready to produce her best after two eye catching efforts since resuming.
Worked to the line best of all from the back half when fourth to Nisroc over 1400m at Randwick in a race that gave backmarkers little chance. Well suited under these conditions with the sting out of the ground.
Imposing type showed he was a promising talent last season when impressive second in the G2 Skyline Stakes at Randwick at only second start.
He then required a long spell and showed the benefit of two good trials to resume with a soft win over 1000m at Kembla Grange in fast time on January 17. Holds abundant scope to improve off that performance.
Rosehill Race 7 - 6 Georgey Aeroplane
Spelled after winning over 2400m in the heavy at this course in August and looks ready to peak again after two trials and two solid efforts since resuming.
Boasts a big record of three wins from four starts on this track, relishes soft ground and is certain to be all the better for his last start when he had to work chasing tearaway leader Koroibete over 2000m at Randwick.
