Chris Scholtz - Early Thoughts

R&S Contributing Editor Chris Scholtz takes a look at tomorrow’s Sydney racing.

SELECTIONS

Randwick Race 3 - 5 Teronado

Hard to find a better placed horse at this meeting than this Queenslander dropping back to Benchmark company after an excellent sixth in the G1 Epsom Handicap after being last at the 600m.

He’s had issues during his career but he is still an obvious talent who should get his right conditions as he really needs a good surface to produce his best.

Randwick Race 5 - 5 Tarangower

Scone-trained 5YO has been prepared for his first start since the autumn with two strong 900m trials on his home track that will have fitted him well for a first-up tilt at 1400m.

He’s a first-up winner and is suited by Randwick where he already boasts a strong record. He has had only 12 starts and has always given the impression he will improve with maturity.

Randwick Race 9 - 11 Thinking Of You

Promising mare caught the eye when resuming with her closing fourth over 1200m at Rosehill on September 30.

That was just her eighth career start and its obvious she holds great scope for improvement off that effort with the return to her own sex, remembering that she was G1 placed at just her third start last season when third in the Flight Stakes behind the outstanding pair First Seal and Winx.
