R&S Contributing Editor Chris Scholtz takes a look at tomorrow’s Sydney racing.

SELECTIONS

Rosehill Race 2 - 7 Roman Typhoon

Bad habits have proven costly for this big gelding in his two starts since resuming but I am convinced he is not a kid’s horse.

This time he gets the services of Brenton Avdulla after proving a handful for apprentice Jean Van Overmeire on a soft track over 1200m at Randwick last Saturday when he was beaten less than a length after the young rider lost his whip and found himself in a jam between horses over the closing stages.

Suited back to 1100m with winkers on for first time and willing to trust Avdulla can get him to show his real talent on a better surface.

Rosehill Race 7 - 3 Dreamforce

Quality performer has been in super form in his two starts since resuming with a slashing last to first win over 1100m at Randwick.

This was followed by his gallant second in the Listed Civic Stakes over 1350m at this course on June 30 when caught on the line by Liapari after having to doing all the hard work in the run from a wide gate.

Get another poor draw but he beat many of these rivals last start and maps to get an easier run this time if he crosses them to lead as expected. The bonus is the riding switch to Brenton Avdulla as he has a two wins from three rides on the 5YO.

Rosehill Race 8 - 11 Drachenfels

Flies fresh and no doubt the Godolphin team have him ready to produce a big first-up effort off a long break after two excellent trials in the last month.

All his four wins have been over this trip and his only start at Rosehill produced a win under a big weight at his last run prior to his spell. Should figure as he is drawn to get a kind run with cover.
