Of the 27 sprinters nominated for the $1 million Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m) on Saturday May 11, the list boasts some of Australia's leading stables including Ciaron Maher, Peter and Paul Snowden, James Cummings, Phillip Stokes, Annabel Neasham, the Hayes brothers, Danny O'Brien, Mick Price and Mick Kent, Mitch Freedman and Jason Warren.

Locally, Richard and Chantelle Jolly have two nominations in Master Eight and Karacasu.

WA 4yo mare Amelia's Jewel is the highest rated runner at 114 with prizemoney of $3.36 million and joins other mares Bella Nipotina (113 and $7.01 million), and Climbing Star as the other Group One winners in the entries.

Amelia's Jewel arrives in Adelaide today (Friday 3 May) just over a week out from the race and will provide significant interest, given her profile around Australia as she aims to conquer South Australia ahead of a possible tilt in the Queensland Racing Carnival.

Group 2 winner King of Sparta (112 and $3.53 million in prizemoney) is the highest rated gelding, followed by talented WA 3yo Oscar's Fortune at 109.

There are 15 Group winners in the 27 entries with five of them three-year-olds.

Climbing Star, Learning to Fly, Skybird, Benedetta and Extremely Lucky have earnt ballot exemptions from winning or being placed in lead up races to the Goodwood.

The race will provide several different form lines from WA, Victoria, NSW and here, with the local hopes being Sghirripa, Extremely Lucky and Stretan Angel.

This will ensure a strong renewal of the race and a fitting finale to Racing SA's three weeks of Group One racing next Saturday.
