Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Randwick Kensington, Strathalbyn, Ipswich, Geelong, Ascot and Launceston.

RANDWICK KENSINGTON: RACE 4 @ 4:05 PM

Nick Olive brings his talented mare TOES IN THE WATER (1) to town after some decent efforts of late. Led the Moruya Cup field for home last start after doing a lot of early work and eventually succumbed to finish third. Should lead this modest field today from the inside draw and will be tough to run down. ENDURE (4) faced the starter for only the second time last start and got the job done in good fashion over 1400m on the course proper. The two that finished behind her go around in Race 3 today so keep an eye on them. Should be up to this class. WILD GYPSY (3) has been disappointing as favourite at her last two runs. Looked a difficult ride for the 3kg claimer last start so a senior jock going on today qualifies her for one more chance. Last start Kembla maiden winner RYBAKINA (7) steps out beyond 1400m for the first time but it looks a good move given the manner of her final furlong last time. SHE'S GOT VEUVE (6) is back in trip but always gives her all - one for the exotics.
SELECTIONS: Toes In The Water to win.

STRATHALBYN: RACE 2 @ 1:40 PM

CITY UNITED (6) chased gamely into the placings in his stable debut for the red-hot Michael Hickmott. The form from the maiden has stacked up superbly, with already 3 subsequent winners from 4 runners. Is sure to have come on from the hit-out and has Pannell sticking from a much kinder draw. The one to beat. ROB THE BANK (5) wasn't able to live up to market expectations last start but was an improver. Should be nearing his peak now and is worth some thought. ARAMOSO (1) was poised to strike when resuming here 19 days ago but couldn't go with the winner. Is sure to have come on with that run under his belt and comes right into calculations. EMPIRE GRACE (12) comes through the same maiden, only getting going late to finish midfield. Is another likely improver with winning claims.
SELECTIONS: City United to win.

IPSWICH: RACE 5 @ 4:23 PM

HARDWARE LANE (3) resumes here but has a solid first-up record and is three from three over this track and trip. Gets Thornton on board to navigate from the sticky alley and can run a big race while fresh. OVIDIUS (4) just ran into one better last time out and will be rock-hard fit for this. Winning hoop Huxtable reunites and should be right there at the business end. Former NSW galloper KOTE (8) is having his first run for the new stable but should find this easier than what he faced down south and any market confidence must be respected. SINAWANN (2) wasn't disgraced in Listed grade when resuming and will strip fitter for that hit-out. This is a nice step back in company. AT WITZ END (1) best of the rest from the inside marble.
SELECTIONS: Hardware Lane on top.

GEELONG: RACE 7 @ 6:30 PM

STATICE (9) clearly on top. She's a filly by Brutal who looked very smart on debut at Seymour. She only beat four rivals there over 1000m when leading throughout but did it very easily as a $1.90 favourite, scoring by four lengths. Drawn the inside for Shinn, she can hunt up and prove too quick again. ENRIGHT (7) won his maiden nicely two back at Mornington with the form out of that race holding up well. He was close up last time in a Class 1, beaten 0.6 lengths. He should give a sight. HAMPTON PALACE (3) has been around the mark in two runs since a fresh win at Hamilton. Lane goes on and he should give a sight.
SELECTIONS: Statice to win.

ASCOT: RACE 4 @ 6:34 PM

CHOUX SHOE (5) overcame a wide gate and got in the deciding final stride to score by a nose at Pinjarra nearly a fortnight ago. That effort made up for an unlucky effort fresh up and from a superior gate with an extra 100m to travel, she can take the next step immediately. ROYAL SPLENDOUR (9) needed her fresh-up run on this track and has had no luck in a couple of subsequent runs. The mile will suit and she can figure in the top 3 this time. TROOPER PHOENIX (1) was only a head back from the winner when resuming before racing in tight quarters last week and finishing midfield. The blinkers are off and Kate Pateman is back in the saddle to replace an apprentice. Don't drop him. SHEEZA SHEILA (3) was beaten by a wide gate at Pinjarra last time out. She will be peaking third up and ready to put her best hoof forward. PROPORTRAIT (7) has yet to fire this prep and has the blinkers back on for the first time this season. A form reversal would be no surprise.
SELECTIONS: Choux Shoe to win.

LAUNCESTON: RACE 4 @ 8:00 PM

APRIL'S DANCE (9) bounced straight back beaten 1.3L at Hobart. Maps for a soft run and presents at peak fitness. She can go one better. GEE GEES ME BOY (1) finished just behind the above in that contest and was slow to recover. All must be in order and he also has winning claims. DID YOU DECIDE (3) improved sharply here and then came back and was beaten a whisker in a CL5. Has more weight but tumbles in grade and has been kept on the fresh side. AGNETE (6) is third-up and she has more to offer. Has an inside gate and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: April's Dance appeals most.
