Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for December 27.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Strathalbyn, Hobart, Ipswich and Geraldton.
STRATHALBYN: RACE 1 @ 1:00 PM
PURFECT LINE (5) hit the ground running first-up at Balaklava when showing good tactical speed and fighting on gamely in the lane to be beaten narrowly. Is sure to have come on with that run under his belt and has gun hoop in Toeroek sticking. Will take catching. Similarly GREENIDGE (6) held on well to finish third when first-up at headquarters after leading for much of the way. Expected to measure up again. OUR GLAMOUR GIRL (9) started favourite at the last run before a break but could only manage third here, doing her best work late. Can pick up where she left off. Key player. JURA VAUDOIS (7) wasn't far away fresh at Balaklava but struggled last start at Murray Bridge. No shock to see her bounce back sharply third-up. WADAANA (10) returns and has a good early toe on her day. Expecting her too utilise the low draw and should give a bold sight. Worth some thought.
SELECTIONS: Purfect Line to win.

HOBART: RACE 2 @ 2:54 PM
MYSTICAL DIAMOND (15) won the latest of 2 public trials and is making her debut from the strong Adam Trinder stable. She benefits from a 2kg claim and will have plenty of admirers. Can win. ICE CRYSTAL (13) is heading the right way after finishing a brave fourth at Launceston just over 2 weeks ago after doing a lot of work outside the leader during the run. She is peaking third up and her first win is not far away. GEEGEEHAILSTORM (7) fought on well enough to finish third over 1400m last start and may be better off over 1200m for now. Craig Newitt picks up the ride. Each way. GAZZA'S SPIRIT (2) put the writing on the wall when finishing a head back in second place here 12 days ago. He can go one better here.
SELECTIONS: Mystical Diamond to win.
IPSWICH: RACE 4 @ 3:24 PM
THE FIXER (4) has hit a purple patch of form this preparation and goes well for Bayliss who has two wins and a placing from just four steers. Drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley and should give this a mighty shake. COMMAND APPROVED (5) got a well deserved victory at the latest effort and will have derived a stack of confidence from that win. Top-three contender. JUKEBOX GLOW (6) is a three-time winner over this distance range and may make her presence felt. I SEE YOU COMING (2) rounds out the selections by default.
SELECTIONS: The Fixer to salute.
GERALDTON: RACE 5 @ 4:14 PM
QUEEN NARDI (4) was ridden more positively last start and held on well to finish runner-up at Ascot 9 days ago. All of her 3 career wins have come on this track and she is the one to beat. BECALOTTI (2) was well-placed to win 2 races in a row at BM58 level and won't find this much harder. She has 1.5kg less to carry this time and is in a good space. The hat-trick beckons. KNENTII (10) is still a maiden and is having his first run on the track. He is rock-hard fit and with a 4kg weight drop, he is not out of this. Include in all combinations. LUKE'S PIERRO (8) is racing his way into full fitness and was a solid fourth here over a mile 12 days ago. The extra 482m will suit him and he can figure in the top 3 this time.
SELECTIONS: Queen Nardi to win.
