Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Rosehill, Sandown, Toowoomba, Morphettville, Belmont and Eagle Farm.

ROSEHILL: RACE 7 @ 3:25 PM

SEMANA (4) finds her race today second up and expected to go close. Solid return when fourth over 1400m in the G1 Winx Stakes at Randwick on August 24. Conditions suit and due for a change of luck. AMELIA'S JEWEL (2) first run back for the new stable she attacked the line late when a gritty second over 1400m in the G2 Tramway Stakes at Randwick on September 7. Goes just as well second up and strips much fitter for this back to her own sex. Solid top three contender. TROPICAL SQUALL (1) speared across from the wide gate on resumption before tiring badly in the straight when a poor 10th over 1400m in the G1 Winx Stks at Randwick on August 24. This looks much easier and will get an easier lead today. Fitted with a recent 1000m trial and must be kept safe. ARCTIC GLAMOUR (7) has fitness on her side third up but is likely to drift back from the good gate. Finished off okay when seventh over 1400m in the G2 Tramway Stakes at Randwick on September 7. Keep safe.
SELECTIONS: Semana to win.

SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 6 @ 3:05 PM

BERKELEY SQUARE (5) was outstanding winning last start at Flemington when had no favours in the run but was still strongest on the line. That was only second-up, so will have taken good fitness improvement for the run and gets in well after the claim for Jaylah Kennedy, who was aboard last start. MURAMASA (2) turned in an encouraging return over 1500m in a stronger race than this, so can be expected to be even better again up to 1800m. INDEPENDENT ROAD (11) is a gritty on-pacer and ran well first-up and generally holds form once he finds it. KEATS (9) has twice won third-up and recent runs have suggested he's not far from his best.
SELECTIONS: Berkeley Square to win.

TOOWOOMBA: RACE 2 @ 2:23 PM

The well-related SET TO SHINE (7) (full to 2xG3 winner and multiple G2 placed Houtzen) has been racing in a rich vein of form of late winning three of her past four and saves her best form for this 1300m journey. Gets in light with the 2kg claim and is drawn to get a soft run in transit from gate two. Rates the testing material again. OUGHTON (1) resumes here but the form he showed when last in work was good enough to feature in a race like this. Can feature while fresh. QUOTHQUAN (13) has a win and three placings from five starts at the trip and cannot be discounted. CLOUDLAND (2) best of the rest from the Lees barn.
SELECTIONS: Set To Shine to continue the purple patch of form.

MORPHETTVILLE PARKS: RACE 3 @ 2:08 PM

KLABEL (4) has barely put a foot wrong this campaign and is racing in great order. Brings the superior formlines and will appreciate Toeroek reuniting. Only has to hold his form to prove very hard to beat. MARBLE ARCH (6) returns for the smart Hayes trio. Is yet to score fresh but likes this trip and the form around her last prep stacks right up here. OCEAN REWARD (5) doesn't do a great deal of winning but has been running well against some quality opposition. Could be in the finish if they can utilise the inside draw. MASTER EIGHT (1) was solid first-up in the Listed W H Wylie, finishing midfield. Improvement to come and has the 3kg claimer on to offset the top weight. Don't take lightly.
SELECTIONS: Klabel to win.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 4 @ 4:11 PM

CAPTAIN PLUTO (2) was a huge winner on this track fresh up and in 3 starts since then he has only been beaten narrowly, including his last start here a fortnight ago as favourite when a neck back from the winner. He is the one to beat again. POMPEY (1) is a quality stablemate of the top pick who resumed with a fair effort over 1200m on this track 2 weeks ago. He has won 2 of his 3 starts second up in the past and will relish the step up to a mile. He is down in grade and even with the top weight, he can get the job done here. FINE TOUCH (6) probably found 2100m a touch too far here last start and her record over a mile is much better. She is nicely placed with 55kg on her back and she is poised to bounce back into some worthwhile form again. Each way. CORN COB (5) has been mixing his form for some time and has not lived up to his earlier promise. He is getting down in the weights now and is more than capable of figuring in the finish if he is in the right mood.
SELECTIONS: Captain Pluto to win.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 6 @ 4:34 PM

ANTONITO (5) is a leader who's been beaten a nose at both his starts this preparation as a short-priced favourite. Finds easier than last time and has a handy 3kg claim. Has been saved for this and draws to advantage. In a sharp barn and is ready to win. DAMO DAYZ (2) resumes for the premier barn and has shown enough to say he's a chance. Finds easier and has trialled well. Will give away a start but will finish hard under Callow's strong riding. MORE LOVE (12) did a good job in a resuming win. Lightly-raced with upside so could go on with it. WONDERLAND STAR (9) is worth keeping safe fresh.
SELECTIONS: Backing Antonito.
