Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Wyong, Moree, Geelong, Casterton, Sunshine Coast, Port Augusta, Carnarvon and Hobart.

WYONG: RACE 6 @ 3:50 PM

AFTER MATCH (8) progressive gelding with a ton of ability. Won well first-up, before going under narrowly when a solid second over 1100m at Hawkesbury on August 13. Brings the best figures here and should be suited by the tight Wyong track. FIRE STAR (2) stablemate to After Match who looks the main danger after fading late when sitting on the speed to run second over 1000m at Kembla Grange on August 17. Hard to beat in this suitable race. REIGNING KING (6) started a firm fav on resumption when a tiring third over 900m at Newcastle on August 15. Has won second up and must be respected. CROSS YOUR HEART (3) progressive mare resuming from the in form O'Shea & Charlton yard. Not been sighted since rocketing late when a narrow second over 1100m at this track on April 11. Fitted with two even trials and gets the blinkers on for the first time.
SELECTIONS: Straight out After Match.

MOREE: RACE 8 @ 5:11 PM

MAGIC FLYER (8) will be near peak now after two runs back and far from disgraced on a heavy track last time out. Nicely placed here and should go close. LEICA MODEL (5) is unbeaten in two runs at this track including last time at 1400m. Definite chance. GOLD COUNTER (1) gave a sight in front and was just denied when runner-up at Dubbo a few weeks ago. Fitter and drawn to have every chance. WANDA RIVER (3) was a solid winner first-up and scratched from a Highway in Sydney for this. JAMESON (7) could improve.
SELECTIONS: Magic Flyer to win.

GEELONG: RACE 1 @ 1:10 PM

POLITELY DUN (3) looks the clear horse to beat here. His past two starts have been at Flemington in strong 2yo races and he resumes here off a let up as a three-year-old. Back to maiden grade, he looks set for an easy kill. SHADEELAA (5) was good at Ballarat Synthetic two back before tackling the same Flemington race as Politely Dun, not bad in fifth. Should be thereabouts. SCARY (4) was beaten a long way on debut at Sandown Lakeside over 1300m but didn't have the best run and will relish the rise in trip here. Can improve quickly. BERGASUN (1) was sound on debut at Terang and is suited to the rise in trip. Can figure.
SELECTIONS: Politely Dun to win.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 2 @ 1:15 PM

DARK CHILL (1) doesn't win out of turn but has hit the top-four in 11 of 13 career starts to date and this is not an overly strong affair. Has placed four from four over this mile journey and will at his peak fourth-up from from the spell. Shapes as a leading contender. The penny has dropped for the well-related WINTER'S PROMISE (6) (half to G1 winner Grand Journey) who has won two of her past three and is racing with a lot of confidence. Expecting another big run. DECEMBER DIAMOND (8) saves her best form for here on her home circuit and will be rock-hard fit for this. Should appreciate the step-up in trip. STAR CHANCE (9) has won over this track and trip and is usually thereabouts. Can earn some minor money. PENDING (2) best of the rest with Dolan in the stirrups.
SELECTIONS: Dark Chill to get a well-deserved victory.

PORT AUGUSTA: RACE 6 @ 4:28 PM

LORD MORTON (3) has gone better than his form reads in his two runs back. Has left it late but has been warming nicely to his task without threatening. Drops back to the country circuit and steps out to a winning trip. Will take some stitching third-up. IMPORTANT PRODUCT (2) made light work of his rivals here last start in this grade. Comes in on the fresh side with 42 days between runs and shoulders a terrific record over this journey. One of the key chances. EAST INDIAMAN (1) returns. Yet to land a winning blow fresh but holds genuine claims on best form, hence the big weight. 4kg claimer helps. Don't underestimate. VALAROC (5) next best.
SELECTIONS: Lord Morton the one to beat.

CARNARVON: RACE 4 @ 5:45 PM

SAINTLY CITY (8) held on to win narrowly as favourite over this course and distance last start, remaining undefeated at this course and distance. The gelding is now 3/3 here and the Visors replace the blinker this time. Faithfull remains in the saddle and he's sure to take beating again. DARK CITY (1) was slicing through the grades in Broome before a disappointing effort as favourite in the Broome Sprint last time out. Back to 1000m now and while he does have to carry the big weight, he has earned it. Can bounce back in a big way. GOLDEN FIGHTER (3) just missed behind Saintly City last time out, continuing to build into his campaign. Now fourth-up and at his peak, Yuill takes the ride and he's expected to put his best foot forward. MIR (4) is better than he showed at Broome last start and can bounce back. GINGER JONES (2) is another who comes through the Broome Sprint and may appreciate the shorter journey.
SELECTIONS: Siding with Saintly City in the feature.

HOBART: RACE 5 @ 2:30 PM

SKY EAGLE (9) got off the mark over 1100m at this track last start scoring by 1.75 lengths. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Maps well and is capable of taking the next step. The Keys yard has a strong hand and the betting will be key with this trio. DYSART (1) resumes with a handy 2kg claim and has won this course/trip Has the best peaks and is a decent chance if presented forward. Newitt rides TURF PUZZLE (8) who will be better for the first-p run. He races forward and fitter is likely to give a sight. QUEEN OF MALWA (3) resumes with Pires booked. The former Victorian usually needs a run but has the ability and she may be more forward this time around.
SELECTIONS: Sky Eagle appeals most.
