Having moved from Moruya, Jarvis who heads Thorotek Racing, brings a strong team to the Nation's Capital and is hoping to take advantage of the wonderful training facilities that include the Polytrack and heated equine pool.

"It's been excellent." Jarvis said of her move. "Everyone has been so welcoming, and the horses are really enjoying the facilities."

"There's been a bit of rain around but our pacework and jumpouts haven't been interrupted because of the synthetic track which has been super."

With 163 wins already to her name, Jarvis has entered four runners on Friday at Thoroughbred Park including speedster Kattegat in the TAB Federal (1200m).

The rising 8-year-old Kattegat, has been a grand horse for Jarvis & connections, having secured over a quarter of a million dollars' worth of prizemoney to date.

"It's actually taken Kattegat a while to settle into his new surroundings which we thought was a little weird considering how much travel he's done in the past." Jarvis said.

"But he's settled in now and his work has been great."

Kattegat has drawn barrier 10 of 13 which Jarvis doesn't consider to be a negative.

"He is a horse that doesn't like to be crowded." Jarvis said. "Him drawing wide doesn't necessarily mean we'll take a sit."

"Billy knows this horse so well, so we'll let him make that call, whether to go forward or back, after they jump."

Team Thorotek also have Huddersfield, Santorini Sun (both Race 5) and Abstruse (Race 7) as live chances on the day.
