Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Canterbury, Doomben, Sale, Strathalbyn and Belmont.

CANTERBURY: RACE 6 @ 12:55 PM

BUNKER HUT (3) booted up to hold the fence and lead but couldn't finish the race off in the heavy going when third over 1400m at the Kensington track a fortnight ago. Drops a little in grade this time and his best form comes at this shorter trip. Big chance to return to the winner's list on firmer footing. SILENT RAINDROPS (11) ran on well first-up at Wyong then disappointed at the Kensington track last time in heavy ground. Has failed second-up before but her third-up stats read well. Capable of sharp improvement. THERE THERE (12) has been just behind the placegetters at her two runs this time in work. Closed well over 1350m last time at Newcastle after being shuffled back at a vital stage. Ready to peak third-up. LITTLE COINTREAU (8) is back from a 20-week spell. Won first-up last prep then progressed nicely. Cannot be ruled out. REBEL SHADOW (5) is at his best over today's course and distance so he can improve on a moderate effort when resuming.
SELECTIONS: Giving Bunker Hut another chance.

DOOMBEN: RACE 5 @ 2:28 PM

KENYADA (2) finished within range at both Group and Listed level before belting a CL3 field at Ipswich by 3.5L. Orman sticks aboard the Waller-trained galloper. She draws to sit just off the speed and can go back-to-back. CARTWHEELS (14) is also lightly raced and can build on her CL1 win at Eagle Farm. Ran on strongly in that and the extra 230m won't prove an issue. She will carry just 53.5kgs with the 3kg claimer engaged. BLAZEN BOOTS (5) was okay in a 75 at Eagle Farm last time but a better guide is the near-miss at Doomben prior in a 70 over this distance. He's been kept on the fresh side and a top Melbourne jockey is aboard the Gollan-trained galloper. Waller's DULCET (9) won the 62 at Ipswich as the market anticipated and he's still shy of his Victorian peaks. Maloney replaced Orman and the gelding also deserves consideration.
SELECTIONS: Backing Kenyada.

SALE: RACE 6 @ 11:55 PM

ALL SO CLEAR (2) looks close to a win, good in second two back and better again last time, beaten under a length over the mile. He'll have no issue with the slight rise in trip and rates highly here. MISS RUBYDOO (10) beat a handy horse first-up to break her maiden at Cranbourne before struggling badly at Warrnambool. Could improve sharply. KWOI HOI (6) was good first-up over 1400m at Pakenham before an even effort last time over a mile. Up in trip now should suit. Each-way hope. WORCESTER (9) was disappointing at Cranbourne over 2025m but was in good form prior and back in trip should suit better. ARDEN GREEN (3) will find this easier than recent racing.
SELECTIONS: All So Clear to win.

STRATHALBYN: RACE 5 @ 3:15 PM

SET ON YOU (7) has found the line nicely in both resuming efforts and should be ready to fire now third up with leading hoop Jake Toeroek going aboard. KUSHAN KHANIVALE (2) doesn't win out of turn but is racing in good order, only denied by a head last time out at Murray Bridge. Carries more weight with the drop in grade. Drawn much kinder this time and has Holder sticking. Main danger. ARTERO (1) missed narrowly first up here and then was an eye-catcher last time out. Further improvement is anticipated third up. EXALTED KATE (8) rates highly on best efforts and needs to be included in the chances.
SELECTIONS: Backing Set On You to win.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 4 @ 4:38 PM

HOSTILE TALK (8) was a very impressive winner here on debut last December before finishing last in his next run as a short-priced favourite at his next start when he was found to be lame after the run. Those issues looked to be well behind him when he was winning a recent Lark trial and he should set the record straight fresh-up in this. ROMMING DANGER (10) resumed with a big effort for third at Ascot 3 weeks ago. She flashed home late that day and will be hoping to settle a touch closer to the early pace here. She has 2 kilos less to carry this time and can have the last say. CAPRE OMNIA (1) was a touch unlucky not to have won last time out at Pinjarra-Scarpside a fortnight ago down the straight course there over 1000 metres after being held up at a vital stage, finishing second. He will be looking for gaps again from a wide gate here but is good enough to take it out. DEETEA (2) was unable to make up any ground last time out at Ascot. She is worth another chance in this. Each-way.
SELECTIONS: Hostile Talk to win.
