Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for December 08.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Werribee, Sunshine Coast, Murray Bridge and Bunbury.
HAWKESBURY: RACE 7 @ 5:18 PM
IT'S A WONDER (4) has shown city class ability and if she's able to get a shot at these first-up she should take holding out. Won fresh last time and will be hitting the line hard. DUMEBI (1) wasn't beaten far when resuming at Kembla Grange and will be fitter. Open to improvement and is a threat. CORREON (7) is up in class but comes off a nice maiden win so could be capable of going on with it. ZOUSAIN BOLT (8) and SHADOW EXPRESS (6) are among the chances.
SELECTIONS: It's A Wonder to win. Save on Dumebi.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Hawkesbury Computer Card.
WERRIBEE: RACE 6 @ 4:20 PM
KEEP YOUR COOL (6) impressed beaten 1.5L at Geelong first-up and then raced forward at Donald in a strong form race and and didn't finish it off. This is the easiest she'd raced in for a while and she draws to advantage with a 2kg claimer engaged. In the premier barn and is suited. PORTER (7) found more like his best easily winning a 58 at Seymour. He races forward and will be better for the outing. JACKIE'S MAID (14) has been in the placings at her last two appearances, finishing second over 1469m at Kyneton most recently. Sure to be competitive.
SELECTIONS: Backing Keep Your Cool to win.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 2 @ 2:30 PM
SECOND SUN (8) has been knocking on the door of another victory with three consecutive placings this time in and strikes a very winnable contest here. Regular hoop Thornton sticks in the irons and should be right there when the whips are cracking. BOW TIE AFFAIR (2) was a touch disappointing at the latest effort but go on the strong Ipswich win on debut two back. Can bounce right back to form against this lot. RUMBLING AWAY (7) shed the maiden tag at the latest outing and will have derived a stack of confidence from that victory. Worth following up. FORT DENISON (3) has found some form at the past three efforts and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley. In the mix. The well-related HEREDITARY (4) (full to G1 winner Ugo Foscolo) gets 2kg off with the claim and may earn some minor money.
SELECTIONS: Second Sun to salute.
MURRAY BRIDGE: RACE 5 @ 4:30 PM
LADY SKYLLA (3) capitalised on some some solid efforts by taking out his maiden at the latest. Open to further improvement and is drawn well again. Can repeat the dose. MYRTLE CREEK (4) was an eye-catcher last start when rattling home into the frame at Strathalbyn. Drops back slightly in trip and is the one to watch for late. HUNTLEY LADY (1) has been freshened with a 39-day break and gets a key booking in Toeroek on a track she likes. Can improve sharply. PROBATE (6) finds it tough to notch up her second win but shoulders best figures that puts her right in the mix. Is aided at the weights with the 2kg claimer engaged. Don't dismiss lightly.
SELECTIONS: Lady Skylla to win again.
BUNBURY: RACE 6 @ 7:15 PM
Williams-trained PROCESSIO (8) went close x2 at Ascot before a plain effort at Belmont starting a short-priced favourite. Forgiving her that and CJP takes over today and has the first-time blinkers applied. He'll be looking to use the inside gate to advantage. FULL OF MERIT (1) led and was a big winner in a decent race at Kalgoorlie before succumbing late beaten 1.9L at Ascot in stronger than this. Uses and is a decent chance to bounce. PLAYING QUEST (7) resumed this track/trip with a solid effort and was tried in Stakes grade over 2000m before the break. He is proven second-up and Chris Parnham sticking aboard is a positive. Look for him late. SIDE SHOW (4) has switched from a Sydney yard on a 57-day return. He's trialled x2 and has raced okay in better company. The betting will be key.
SELECTIONS: Going with Processio.
