Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Newcastle, Orange, Werribee, Pakenham, Townsville and Launceston.

NEWCASTLE: RACE 5 @ 4:20 PM

FIRE TRIBE (1) went back from a wide draw then made good late inroads to finish fourth last start over 1350m at Wyong. Very fit after three runs back from a spell and he is crying out for this trip. Joe Pride pops the blinkers back on him for the first time this prep which suggests this is grand final day. MIZELLA (8) couldn't quicken over 1350m at the Beaumont track recently and finished well back in a small field. Gives every indication she needs this sort of distance now so give her another chance. ROCKBARTON FLASH (4) justified the short quote and collected his maiden win at Port Macquarie last start. Blinkers go on today - worth following. ZOUSAIN BOLT (5) can improve off his fair first-up run and is not out of the equation. COASTAL GROOVE (2) wasn't beaten far first-up over 1200m at this track. Will appreciate the extra trip.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Fire Tribe.

ORANGE: RACE 2 @ 2:10 PM

MONEY WHEEL (2) put the writing on the wall last start over this track and trip when winding up strongly late to just miss the winner. Should be near his peak for this and looks the one to beat. OTONO (10) only warmed to his task late when resuming over 1200m at Beaumont (Newcastle). Should progress from that last outing and poses a genuine threat with the blinkers going on first time. BENAMERA (4) finds the maiden win elusive but has produced some nice efforts this campaign. Carries a fitness edge and is one of the key chances. LEGRIS (1) progressed nicely last time out to finish just 1.2L from the winner in second at Tamworth. Requires further improvement but deserves respect.
SELECTIONS: Money Wheel to win.

WERRIBEE: RACE 4 @ 3:30 PM

OH SO THRILLING (9) resumed with a nose defeat at Benalla over this distance heavily supported. She should have broken through in her initial campaign and has plenty of scope for improvement. The barrier is awkward but Egan is a key jockey switch. MONTROCK (3) resumes this trip at Warrnambool beaten 2L. He races forward and has the first-time blinkers applied. Fitter and has decent claims. LOCH TAY (2) settled back and did a good job finishing as close as he did at Werribee first-up. He's been plagued by awkward barriers but John Allen is reunited today and the longer sprint is sure to suit. SUNDAY GEORGIE (12) debuts and represents the premier stable. She has the blinkers applied signalling intent. Wary, and the betting will be key.
SELECTIONS: Backing Oh So Thrilling.

PAKENHAM: RACE 5 @ 8:15 PM

CINCH (11) is a lightly raced filly who has shown promise in two runs to date, good on debut at Geelong before an even effort at Cranbourne, finishing fourth as a $1.45 chance. She can atone here in a suitable maiden. SACRIFY (7) was okay at Cranbourne over 1400m last time out but had been good at Mornington prior and should be ready to handle the rise to 1600m now. SO BRAVE (5) is a gelding by So You Think on debut for the John Leek Jnr yard who has jumped out well since coming over from WA. This should be a good trip for him. HIS FINEST HOUR (6) is a gelding by Proisir on debut for the Price & Kent Jnr yard. His jumpouts have just been fair but the stable must be respected.
SELECTIONS: Cinch to win.

TOWNSVILLE: RACE 3 @ 2:12 PM

It's hard to fault the form of WELL HELD (1) who has only missed a drum once in nine career starts and this is not an overly strong affair. Is two from two around this circuit and is racing in great heart. Looks the one they all have to run down. MARCH MADNESS (5) strips fitter third-up from the spell and has been well in the market at both outings this campaign. Where there's smoke there's fire and can make his presence felt. LOVE 'N' VISION (3) broke the maiden status at the latest effort and will have derived a stack of confidence from that victory. Include in calculations. MISHANI BURN (6) bobs up from time to time and may earn some minor money. CLUCK (4) next in line by default.
SELECTIONS: Well Held looks a good thing.

LAUNCESTON: RACE 5 @ 8:00 PM

Tricky. SANDUAL (4) resumes with a form hoop booked. He usually needs a run but maps well and is suited in this lineup. Stablemate ROMANESCO FRESCO (12) resumed with a 2L defeat at Hobart in a 68 and is an improved galloper. Maps well and gets in light with the 2kg claim. She will get every chance. LIBERTY RAE (7) peaks and will be sharper back on turf. She's going well enough to consider. SUNSHINE MOSHE (5) has more to give and the 2kg claim is handy. In the mix.
SELECTIONS: Sandual appeals most.
