The race meeting set down for Seymour on Saturday week, 15 May has been transferred to Echuca to allow time for jockeys to approve the track for racing following recent remedial works.
The Seymour meeting on 28 April was abandoned after Race 2 when riders felt the racing surface was inconsistent around the home turn.
Remedial works had been undertaken prior to the meeting as a result of flooding that occurred in late February.
Following last month's abandonment, the Club has undertaken turf blocking on the home turn to address the riders' concerns.
Prior to the resumption of racing at Seymour, RV has ordered that official trials featuring senior riders take place at the track to ensure the racing surface is tested under conditions commensurate with a raceday.
To accommodate this, RV has announced that the official trials set down for Bendigo on Friday week, 18 May have been transferred to Seymour.
The feedback from participants following these official trials will determine whether the track is suitable to host the Club's next scheduled meeting on Saturday, 2 June.
Prior to this, jump outs featuring local horses only will be conducted at Seymour on 15 May to ensure the track is suitable to host the official trials.
