Early mail for Rosehill on Saturday from racing editor Chris Scholtz.
ROSEHILL SATURDAY
RACE 2: (6) MODERATE: Late season two-year-old races often produce promising youngsters and this event has some likely types, not the least being this Peter Snowden-trained filly who made an excellent start to her career with a strong debut win over 1300m at Warwick Farm on May 19 as a well tried favourite. Snowden has a great knack with youngsters by Commands and he has the filly well placed to progress from her first start, noting that an affected track should not be a concern as she won a trial in heavy going prior to her debut.
RACE 3: (8) AMARACHI: Not giving up on this filly just yet as there has been nothing wrong with any of her four efforts this campaign and she is well placed under these conditions with the benefit of a 1.5kg claim for Sam Clipperton. Ran on well at Scone last start against the bias and prior to that was an eye catching fourth over 1400m in Listed company at Randwick. Makes a lot of appeal at good odds in this open field as the drop back to 1200m with the speed on suits her style.
RACE 8 (14) INDEX LINKED: Yet another well above average import in the Chris Waller stable who lines up chasing his fourth successive win after rising quickly through the ranks with his wins at Newcastle, Sandown and Rosehill, all over this trip. Powered to the line from well off the pace for an effortless win over this course and distance on May 11 and hard to oppose him in this field from his good draw with a 1.5kg drop in weight.
