The Melbourne Mail - March 29

The winning run of Sweet As Bro may have come to an end last time out but he continued on his upward spiral.

May's Dream is a good filly but will things pan out at the Valley? Picture: Racing and Sports

The Blamey was a race dominated by the pair racing on speed and Sweet As Bro was never a factor having settled well back in the run but he closed the race off nicely to finish alongside a couple of horses that have already stepped out again and done the form no harm.

Even a most conservative view of that form has Sweet As Bro clear of his current mark.

He now takes his chance in a competitive but winnable handicap at the Valley and is tipped to come out on top.

Stipulate comes out of the same race, and in truth he was no more than fair there, but he’s got good form in the book from the UK and is one worth having on side.

Happy to make a book around that pair.

We took on May’s Dream in a race that never looked like panning out for her last time and it unfolded as predicted.

She ran well there, and is better suited up in trip now, but again she draws in around the Valley and with no speed in this on paper things could get tactical.

She’s a handy filly but at shorter than 3/1 in early betting looks one to avoid.

Hazard has form to very nearly match and should be in front in the run. With that in mind it would be no surprise to see Hazard sent of favourite come jump time.
