Best From The West - May 10

Ever consistent sprinter Terkel appears poised to break back into the winner's stall at Belmont on Saturday and shapes as the best bet of the day.

A proven model of consistency the son of Numerous Times has raced in great heart this time in and while his effort two back when seventh behind Thateldo appears a blemish on his record, he was still only beaten 1.5L.

Having placed in five of his last nine starts the Bob Turrell trained galloper is a proven model of consistency and is a noted flier over this trip having placed in seven of his nine attempts.

Stepping out for his sixth start this campaign, Turrell has actively spaced his runs this time in and he is expected to show good improvement on Saturday given he had nine weeks between runs last start.

Going down narrowly to the talented Travinator, Terkel appears very well placed on Saturday as that sole piece of form seems him rated well clear of his rivals.

Currently installed a $2.70 chance seems a more than fair gamble as we have him rated closer to an even money chance and hence he presents a great overlay opportunity.

From the gun draw he should be able to position up just off the speed and prove very hard to hold out with the in-form William Pike engaged.

The Grant Williams trained Fashion Princess is expected to relish the step up to 1400m on Saturday and shapes as a great betting opportunity in the "get-out stakes".

In what can only be described as a moral beaten two back her performance over 1200m last start proved quite the eye catcher and she does appear very well placed on the weekend.

On career best form she rates well clear on Timeform weight adjusted ratings and while drawn awkwardly she still appears to have a class edge on her rivals.

Currently installed a 3-1 chance appears more than fair as we have her rated the 6-4 favourite and hence are more than happy to play that way in the last leg of the quaddie.

The unbeaten Bjorn To Love has displayed good ability in his two career starts to date however we don't think it warrants him being installed the equal favourite with Cool Trade on Saturday.

At this stage we have both Cool Trade and Saint Bro rated ahead of Bjorn To Love and the shortest we can get him in on Saturday is 4-1.

The Simon Miller trained Saint Bro is expected to show good improvement third up and we have him the slight favourite on Saturday and happy to play that way.
