Brisbane Best - November 22

3 minute read

Shiraz Attack has returned to racing in good order and will prove hard to hold out once again at Doomben on Saturday.

The Gillian Heinrich-trained runner has won two of her three starts this campaign, the most recent coming over 1350m at this course last start.

Shiraz Attack (Race 2 #8) steps up to the mile today where he has had just the one previous start, running 12th in the Group 3 Gunsynd Classic last preparation.

The four-year-old mare rates very well in this company and with only 54kg to carry will be hitting the line strongly and looks hard to go past.

The current price of $3.40 looks overs based on her recent form and fourth up now the mile should not pose too many dramas.

Winning jockey Robbie Fradd stays on board and despite Bush Aviator coming off some decent form Shiraz Attack looks very well placed.

Later in the day Aimalac Burra (Race 4 #4) will look to continue his good form this campaign, following up a win when resuming with a last start third at the Gold Coast after the rider lost the whip.

Drops back slightly in trip today on that effort and is right down in the weights today.

Apprentice jockey Priscilla Schmidt takes the ride for the first time and claims a further 2kg off 54.5kg.

The Paddy Cunningham-trained runner rates well here on recent form and the current price on offer of $12 looks to be very good value in this company.

Has a good third up record previously, winning two of four and in a field like this looms as a very good each way chance.

Lesley’s Choice has been racing well and certainly looks the one to beat however Aimalac Burra will go forward and take plenty of beating in this.

Last week saw our bet of the day Furbish run well for second whilst the each way play Abu Ben Adam scored a good win, paying as much as $9 on the Friday.

Good luck!
