It was the Adelaide Cup on Monday but this is a rather large drop back in quality.
For our best we are going for a couple of interstate form raiders.
Rich River didn’t have best luck on the main track a fortnight back.
He was near last until the 600m when he started to make the move as the leader was running along. After being disappointed for a run he charged late and only missed by a long neck.
With a light weight he can sit back and run home hard with another 150m to cover. The Zabeel on the dam side should ensure he runs it out.
The very consistent Boys Getaround Him brings his provincial form west and backs up quickly on Saturday.
He’s finished first or second every run this preparation since graduating from a Benalla maiden win at the start of the year.
His two wins came at seven furlongs and after the drop back in trip at Cranbourne, he goes back up to his favoured distance.
With a few in this race with decent form on the books, we might still get some decent odds on an each way basis but need three place dividends.
