Thinking it might be the William Pike show again at Belmont with two of his rides our bets this week.

Could be the William Pike show again at Belmont Picture: Racing and Sports

In Race 3, the former Sydney three year old Stravigo can make up for a nose defeat first run in WA.

He led then and was run down right on the post over the short course.

Fitter now, he can work to lead or even sit outside and give a strong kick all the way home.

Should there be any rain on the track, he has run well twice at Randwick on affected ground.

We may even get some better odds come race day.

The second runner will be shorter but looks way too good in the last event.

State Solicitor could barely have done more in winning his first race at the second start.

He sat near the pace and trotted in by three lengths. From this barrier he will probably do exactly the same thing.

While acknowledging he is stepping up into Saturday class, the manner of the win suggested he was a Saturday class horse.

Most of his rivals have been struggling for form. He looks a nice horse on the rise.

Maybe just multi up the two selections. Or just follow Pike all day as most of his rides are strong hopes in the market.
