Brisbane Best - January 21

Alter Call heads north for trainer Mick Price and will be hard to hold out when she lines up in the Three-year-old Open handicap (1200m) at Eagle Farm on Saturda

Running second on debut at Flemington before a spell, Alter Call has returned to racing in very good order this campaign, winning on both occasions, the most recent over 1200m at Caulfield.

Has not drawn the best today in barrier 13 but Jim Byrne should roll forward from that barrier and if she runs up to her best form she take plenty of beating in this field.

Well bred by Fastnet Rock out of Group 1 winner Response and an improving type this looks a very good race for her after failing to get a run in the Magic Millions Guineas last week.

Ringo’s A Rockstar shapes up as the main danger off a last start win at the Gold Coast and even with the apprentice claim will need to show improvement on that effort to match it with Alter Call.

Earlier in the programme Walwa will look to continue her winning form when she lines up in the Benchmark 75 Handicap over 2200m.

Comes into this race having won three of her last four outings, the most recent coming over the 1640m at Doomben.

Untried over this trip previously but her recent form has been very good and at the current price of $10 she is worth an each way ticket.

Robbie Fradd sticks with her and if she can see out the trip she will certainly be right in the mix against this field.

Good Luck!
