We head back to Flemington this weekend for a terrific off-season meeting full of interesting betting angles.

Artie and Williams combine down the Flemington straight Picture: Racing and Sports

For a bet of the day we head to race six, the main sprint on the card, where Divine Mr Artie makes plenty of appeal of a solid return run last time.

At Caulfield he got out of his ground in a hustle, bustle around the turn there. The coil up and let rip nature of straight racing might be more to his liking at 1200m and his first up win at the course and distance last prep certainly hints at that.

He got out over further following that win, so staying at 1200m is some niggle, but on peak form there is a nice little ratings edge against a field that is very evenly matched away from him, and his current price looks something to chime in to.

Getting a hungry Craig Williams and being drawn around a couple of the key runners in Rough Justice and Ruettiger just add to that appeal.

The eighth race on the card is a big field of three-year-old fillies and has a bit of a lottery feel to it away from the favourite Moonlites Choice.

Moonlites Choice was a good winner last week and the step up to 1400m promises to be ideal on the back up from that win. But the market knows all about that and the inside barrier has the potential to throw the odd roadblock at her.

Through a matching formline Invictum Domina looks a good alternative at the early odds. She comes through the race won by Unique Lovely at Caulfield which rated well for the class and produced Moonlites Choice to win last week.

Both Moonlites Choice and Invictum Domina were hindered by the 1100m trip there, and Invictum Domina gets her chance to spiral upwards off that run stepping up in trip today. At $9.00 she's a good each way gamble.
