Tannhauser looks very hard to go past when he lines up in the Class 3 over 1000m on the Polytack at Kranji on Sunday.
The Michael Clements-trained runner won all three starts last campaign, two of them by very big margins and he returns today off a solid enough trial over 1000m at Kranji late last month.
Vlad Duric remains on board and from the good draw should find himself up in the firing line over the 1000m dash.
Tannhauser is stamping himself as one of the leading horses in Singapore and first up today on the Polytrack where he is undefeated should prove too good once again.
The four-year-old gelding rates very well against his rivals in this field and destined for bigger things should be winning again today you would think.
Stablemate Siam Sapphire shapes up as the main danger on the back of some very good form this campaign.
The four-year-old gelding has featured in the placings five of his six outings this time in, winning two of them and running four on the other occasion.
Comes off a handy run for third over the 1100m last time out in a Benchmark 67, running on strongly after drawing wide.
Yet to race over the 1000m trip from 14 career outings but certainly has the ability and rates well against most of these on current form.
Manoel Nunes remains on board and despite needing plenty of luck from the widest draw (14) he has certainly shown enough to suggest he will be right in the finish again today.
Golden Tomahawk should also be included despite a modest showing last start when well held in a Benchmark 83 over 1100m.
Another handy Micharl Clements-trained runner in the race, Golden Tomahawk has never been out of the first four at this level and produced a good effort when third behind Elite Star and Kratos two starts back.
Has been up for a long time now which is a slight concern and is coming to the end of his preparation however a strong showing and return to form would not surprise.
Lim’s Racer rounds out the main chances down in the weights and is a previous Group 2 winner as a juvenile.
Returned in good order with Class 4 win over 1100m before just missing the placings when fourth in a Class 3 last start behind Jelly Bean, with Golden Tomahawk runner up in that race as well.
Not seen in over two months since that effort, Lim’s Racer has since finished runner up in a trial over the 1000m trip and she did win a restricted maiden over this trup last year.
Certainly has plenty of ability and with just the 51.5kg and a good draw, she will be getting to the line very strongly.
