Tannhauser looks very hard to go past once again today when he lines up in the Kranji Stakes B over 1000m on the Polytrack.
The Michael Clements-trained runner has won his last four starts, his only career defeat coming on debut over 1200m at Kranj on the turf.
The lightly raced four-year-old gelding returned in very good order last month with a win in the Class 3 over this C/D last time out after settling around midfield in the early stages.
Returning a new career peak Timeform rating of 91p last start, Tannhauser has since gone on to win a recent barrier trial and off a slight freshen up today certainly looks hard to go past.
Vlad Duric who has been on board the last four starts will maintain the ride and from the middle draw will look to settle off the leaders with a strong tempo anticipated.
Tannhauser is certainly one of the up and coming horses in Singapore and measuring up well against his rivals on weight adjusted ratings today will be very hard to beat on his way to tougher tasks this campaign.
The resuming Deimos shapes up as the main danger having had just the two starts last campaign, winning on both occasions.
Has trialled twice in preparation for today and despite not having won over the 1000m trip previously he does have a terrific record when fresh winning 2/3 and placing on the other occasion.
Likely to find himself in the second half of the field over the 1000m dash but there looks to be decent speed up front and he will be getting to the line strongly.
Certainly forward enough off the two recent trials and expect he will be able to keep Tannhauser very honest today.
These are certainly the main two chances although there does appear to be a handful of each way hopes including Al Green who was good last start when running a solid third in a Benchmark 83 over 1400m on the turf.
Has only managed the two wins from 14 starts but one of those did come over the 1000m and if he handles the 400m drop in distance he is more than capable of running into the finish.
Dream Comes True comes off some handy form, winning a Benchmark 67 two starts back before running well for second to Julius Caesar in a Kranji Stakes C.
Has not been seen in a race for the best part of two months but has trialled in preparation for today and expect him to push forward to settle on the speed and take plenty of running down.
Good luck!
