Brisbane Best - February 10

The ultra consistent Snitz looks well placed when he returns in the Open Canadian Club Handicap over 1200m at Doomben on Saturday.

The Matthew Dunn-trained runner finished last campaign with two wins over the 1350m at Doomben and has been readied for this with a solid trial effort over 1000m at Ballina.

Whilst the stable does not boast the strongest first up record, Snitz looks much better suited over the 1200m first up this time, having resumed over the 1050m at this course last campaign.

Jumping from barrier 7 there looks to be a bit of speed draw on his inside but if he can get a bit of luck in running with cover they will go quick enough up front to allow him to find the line strongly late.

His form last campaign certainly indicates he is a horse with plenty of ability and expect him to be too good for these first up today.

Later in the day Benfica Princess can bounce back to form when she lines up in the Benchmark 75 Handicap (1615m).

Was disappointing last start over this C/D on the back of a nice win two starts back but was slow away and got too far back on that occasion and is likely to settle closer today.

From barrier 2 if he can jump with the field will find a nice spot off the leaders or midfield and she has shown enough of late to suggest she can measure up in the finish today.

The current price of $10 looks a good each way bet and she does her best racing over this trip.

Good luck!
