The Simon Miller trained Special Reward has displayed above average ability in his three starts to this point and remains a big watch fresh at Bunbury on Saturday.
Due to contest the fourth event, Special Reward won his first two starts in convincing fashion before only narrowly edged out at Belmont over 1400m.
Looked well on track to notch up the hat-trick on straightening, before Kelly's Callisto kicked back on the inside, edging him out on the line.Returning a new career peak in the process, Special Reward has since trialled very well off a break and appears well on track for a winning return.
Although it's never easy taking on the older horses at this time of year, he certainly appears well placed down in the weights and is expected to adopt a forward position from the draw.Do respect the likes of both Multiverse and Royal Command, though confident he has a clear edge.
As much as 6/4 was bet early with 5/4 the best price on offer at this stage (Thursday afternoon). In what shapes as a very tough day at Belmont, he looks a solid anchor and presents as the most likely winner.
Trainer Simon Miller often targets this meeting and Special Reward certainly fits that mould. With even luck, he should prove very hard to beat.
The Vaughn Sigley trained Missile Launch creates plenty of interest in his return as he looks to have trialled better leading into his first up run this time in.A winner of six of his 10 starts, Missile Launch broke his maiden at this track and appears very well placed at the weights.
He's never missed the money over this trip and has drawn to get a charmed run in transit, Carbery sticks and knows him so well (won 6/8).While likely to be better over further and set for loftier targets, confident he can pick this up along the way.
