It is a day of mainly small fields in Adelaide which can throw up tricky results so going a bit wide.
Anthony Freedman has a tremendous record heading west and he sends a horse off a Stony Creek win to the last race.
Savvy Shields carried a big weight in that and now drops nicely into this BM70.
We’re not suggesting she’s a metropolitan standard horse off that but this is hardly a metropolitan standard race.
Her best is when able to get near the front early so if she can control the race, she could zip home sharply.
There used to be an old adage that Stony Creek form can often hold up and surprise so here’s hoping it runs well at odds.
Would not be surprised to see a big improvement this time in from Silent Warrior as he races far easier opposition.
He took on group and listed races his last five outings and some of them over too far for him.
About 2000m pulls him up and so this journey is a lovely one for those types of horses.
After a decent spell, and back home, looking for him to run a race at odds and be included in any exotics. He’s already been specked.
