A rain soaked Rosehill faces punters on Saturday with a dartboard definitely required for a few races.
The Joe Pride stable is really starting to fire and emerging sprinter Easy Eddie appears well set up to make a winning return in the second event on Saturday.
Striking at 24 per cent from their last 50 runners, the Pride stable is certainly humming and Eddie looks more than capable of continuing that trend in the Maurice McCarten.
Off the scene for 58 days following his narrow defeat in the Listed Takeover Target Stakes [1200m], Eddie has been tuned up with a nice soft trial and looks to be trending the right way.
The James Cummings trained Trekking is airborne at the trials, but when taking a line through Tactical Advantage, you have to swing Eddie's way.
Trekking beat Tactical Advantage first up last preparation (0.2L) with a 7kg pull in the weights, whereas Eddie finished second behind Tactical Advantage last start (0.2L) with only a 2.5kg pull in the weights.
Both 4YOs, they have had 34 starts between them, saluting the judge on 12 occasions (EE:7 & T:5).
On Timeform ratings, Easy Eddie has the edge rated 113, whereas Trekking is rated 108.
Meeting at level weights on Saturday, it's very easy to make a case that Eddie should be favourite and hence more than happy to take the early price on offer.
Bit of a tricky map for him, but it should see Dolan be positive with All Over Bosanova, Memes and Fiery Heights also likely to press forward.
Easy Eddie is expected to settle ahead of Trekking in the run and should prove very hard to get passed.
The Chris Waller trained Desert Path displayed sharp improvement at his second start in Australia and now appears set to peak racing third up.
Unsuited over 1550m in his Australian debut, Desert Path relished the step up to 2000m last start when reeling off some slick closing sectionals.
Arguably should have won and should be nearing his top racing third up.
The drop back in trip is another key plus with the likely testing conditions at Rosehill on Saturday.
He rates clear off the back of his narrow defeat and with further improvement anticipated, he should prove very hard to beat.
