Tips and suggested plays for a ten-race card at Caulfield on Saturday.

Looks a very tricky day at Caulfield and the track pattern could be all-important with rain expected on the day.

With fairly strong north westerly winds predicted and a potential for the inside to chop up, horses with cover and getting to the wider part of the track could be suited on the day.

With that in mind, I'm going to give Kin a fresh chance in Race 2. She was thoroughly disappointing last preparation, placing in four of six with an average starting price of $4.15 but this looks to be an ideal set up for her.

There should be decent speed on and she's drawn to (hopefully) have the pattern to suit. The Caulfield 1100m is her best track and trip and if she's able to bring the consistent ratings she was running last time in, she'll go very close.

Siding with a similar type of Godolphin mare for the each-way play in Race 6 where Jewellery will be looking to replicate her last-start win at this track. She ran a new peak rating of 100 on the R&S scale there and did it off a pedestrian tempo, sprinting quickly to score easily.

This is a much harder test, up in grade and against the boys, but she's got upside and the rise to 1200m should only play in her favour. She's up against some smart types in Baraqiel and The Open, but if the track, especially the chute, is playing how I predict, she can get into the right spot and prove too strong late.
