Race 1: TABtouch MAIDEN (1,900m)
AGRABAH (1) has turned a corner with his form and he will find this easier than his last start at Pinjarra when finishing runner-up there 2 weeks ago. He is poised to go one better. WASN'T ME (2) stuck to his task gamely when finishing second on this track nearly 3 weeks ago over a mile. A good draw will help and with an extra 300m to travel this time, he will go close to taking this out. IL BELLO BEALS (3) led for a long way when finishing second over 1413m on this track 12 days ago. He tries a middle distance for the first time and could be hard to peg back. ROYALE MUCK UP (5) ran on late at Pinjarra a fortnight ago when running fifth and he should have no excuses with his fitness fifth up from a spell. He lands a superior gate and will be among the hardest to beat this time. Each way.
Race 2: ELLENDALE POOL MAIDEN (1,200m)
FIRE THE GUARD (1) has been placed in 10 of his 16-lifetime starts and ran on late over 1100m at Albany last time out when finishing third. The extra 100m is ideal and the Adam Durrant stable has a very good strike rate on this track. SUMMER MOOD (8) ran on well to nab third at Albany just over 3 weeks ago and is having her first start for a new trainer. A wide gate is no help but she can still figure in the top 3 again. RULENT (4) has changed stables since failing to show much in 4 starts during his initial prep. A change of scenery can help and with the advantage of the pole position, he can give this a shake. A market watch is recommended. ARTERRE (3) will be peaking third-up after running the race of an improver here nearly 3 weeks ago. Stick with him on an each-way basis.
Race 3: CELEBRATING THE WALKAWAY COMMUNITY HANDICAP (1,100m)
SIRIUS STORM (8) has been building his fitness and was a touch unlucky when finishing fourth as favourite at Bunbury 8 days ago. He is well-placed in this company and can set the record straight with a win here. Follow your money. LIVE LUCKY (11) changed stables after a couple of starts in the city as a juvenile and made an immediate impact fresh up on this track when scoring by over 2 lengths as favourite. She has the scope to take the next step immediately. BOLTA (2) has changed stables after racing well on the Carnarvon circuit earlier in the season. The bar plates are off which is a positive move and he can figure in the finish fresh up. A market watch is recommended. ON THE MARK (1) is very consistent and will only continue to improve with racing. He was a recent trial winner on this track and he is on target for his second-win.
Race 4: SWAN DRAUGHT HANDICAP (1,600m)
THE RUSH (2) has won twice already this season and has always been very consistent. She was beaten by a nose here last time out after winning by that margin before that. She loves it here and can take this out. DESERT EDGE (6) resumed from a spell on this track 12 days ago and only ran out of condition late when finishing third. He strips fitter and can take them all of the way this time. CHEYNE BAY (7) battled on well enough fresh up at Ascot nearly 2 weeks ago and is perfectly placed second-up at this level. He steps up from 1400m to the mile and will find this much easier. Hard to beat. MOMBASA (3) peaked on his effort last start on this track when finishing third in a 5-horse field. He will be close to full fitness fourth up and is always an each-way chance on this circuit. Follow your money.
Race 5: MOUNT AUGUSTUS TOURIST PARK WALKAWAY CUP (2,100m)
QUEEN NARDI (4) was ridden more positively last start and held on well to finish runner-up at Ascot 9 days ago. All of her 3 career wins have come on this track and she is the one to beat. BECALOTTI (2) was well-placed to win 2 races in a row at BM58 level and won't find this much harder. She has 1.5kg less to carry this time and is in a good space. The hat-trick beckons. KNENTII (10) is still a maiden and is having his first run on the track. He is rock-hard fit and with a 4kg weight drop, he is not out of this. Include in all combinations. LUKE'S PIERRO (8) is racing his way into full fitness and was a solid fourth here over a mile 12 days ago. The extra 482m will suit him and he can figure in the top 3 this time.
Race 6: DON HAMMARQUIST MEMORIAL HANDICAP (1,400m)
SPARKLE CORNER (2) is holding his form strongly and followed up an all-the-way win here with a third-place finish 12 days ago, half a length from the winner. He has a tougher draw this time and another honest effort can be expected. I'M ON (3) will be peaking third-up and was hitting the line strongly when finishing fourth here 12 days ago. She has won twice over this trip and will be hard to hold out. MONTY ZOOMER (4) can't be faulted this prep and put the writing on the wall when finishing runner-up here nearly 3 weeks ago over 1200m. The extra furlong is ideal and he can go one better. WUNDERKIND (11) flew home late and only missed out on a big win by a short-head. That was her first start for a new trainer and with an extra 187m to travel this time, she can have the last say.
Race 7: WALKAWAY TAVERN HANDICAP (1,400m)
STARRING KNIGHT (5) made a winning track debut here 12 days ago in a similar field. He will relish the extra furlong to travel third up and with half-a-kilo less to carry, he can win again. LAQUETTA'S GIFT (3) has been racing without much luck in tougher fields at Ascot recently and should find this assignment more to her liking. She is better than her form suggests and can bounce back in this. Each way. SURE NO SOMETHING (8) is a very consistent local gelding who ran on late to finish third as favourite here 12 days ago. He has a better gate this time and even though this field is stronger, he drops 2.5kg in weight. Stick with him. MASTER ALEX (12) is chasing down a hat-trick of wins and will be stepping up in class. He likes to race close to the pace and with 3kg less to carry, he can get the job done again. SNIPPY WHICH (2) has a strong record on this track and was only run down late last time out when finishing third at Ascot nearly a fortnight ago. Stick with him.
