Divine City proved a class above to grab her first Listed win on Saturday.
The consistent mare Divine City ($5 fav) scored an impressive win.
She was a little slow to move and was well back early, then made ground to settle eighth on the rails. She was blocked at the turn but Chris Munce eased her across heels on straightening and then put in a good run passing the 300m. She dashed to the front at the 100m and raced clear to win by just over two lengths.
Anna Lizzie raced in second last place in the 14-horse field and was giving the leader about ten lengths at the 600m. She went to the extreme outside rounding the home turn and came with a late run to grab second at the post, putting up an eye-catching effort.
Outsider Scorpio Queen ($41) remained in last place to the 600m. She went to the rails at the home turn, got a split between runners half way down the straight and ran on nicely to take the minor placing.
