Deane Martin was used up to settled on the quarters of the early leader Travolta. He eased to third when Iggi Pop made his forward move at the 1800m settling on the back of that horse in third position. Travolta continued to run along in front with Deane Martin working up to take second position at the 900m before pressuring him and taking the lead at the 600m. He cornered in front and stayed on gamely seeing off all challengers to score a hard fought victory in a cluttered finish. A game effort.

Iggi Pop was posted three wide coming out of the straight for the first time, forcing him to work hard before racing on the quarters of the leader Travolta and was later shuffled back to fourth on the fence at the 700m when Deane Martin and Celtic Prince made their moves. He turned for home back in fourth position hemmed away. He secured a clear run at the 250m and stayed on solidly back on the inside of the winner. A sound effort after an unusual passage in the run.

Celtic Prince raced on the back of Deane Martin one out one back in fifth position. He made his move three wide from the 900m improving his position to third, pressing the leaders at the 700m. He cornered four wide and stayed on gamely at one pace the whole way to the line. He sustained a long wide run and it was a sound effort, he should appreciate more

ground.

Gallatin put in a much improved effort. He enjoyed a nice run in the race fourth on the fence racing on the inside of Celtic Prince. He pushed out off the fence at the 900m before corning for home four and five wide into the clear. He closed resolutely lugging in a little the whole way down the straight for fourth.
