Trust In A Gust made it back-to-back Group One wins with another gutsy effort. He began smartly from his wide barrier and settled in second place. He took the lead on turning for home, dashed clear at the 200m and then yet again fought back gamely when challenged to win by just under a length.

Speediness settled back about tenth between runners and remained there to the home turn. He got a split on passing the 300m, went to third at the 150m and then fought on well for a good second.

Desert Jeuney was seventh between runners, switched across heels at the home turn and put in a good run from the 200m, running on surprisingly well for a good third.

Akavoroun was slowly away and was last early but soon went forward and raced in about eighth place, three deep

without cover. He moved up to third at the turn and kept fighting on in good style, after a difficult trip, for a very good fourth, beaten just over one length.

Rhythm To Spare was second last on the rails in the 15-horse field at the 600m. He saved ground rounding the

turn, went to eighth at the 200m and finished well for a close-up fifth.

Bull Point was midfield on the rails, stuck to the inside and went through to fifth at the 200m and battled on for sixth beaten just over one and a half lengths after having every chance.

Top weight (58kg) Guest Of Honour was well back to the turn and made ground without threatening for (3.3 lengths) ninth putting up a sound run at his first Australian start.

Commanding Jewel (tenth) was always well back and raced below her best while Arabian Gold (14th) also

disappointed tiring from fourth at the turn.
