Antelucan wins 2014 Emirates Airline Plate Group 3 $150,000 at Flemington (VIC) 2yo Fillies, 1000m.
The Godolphin-raced filly Antelucan began quite well and Chad Schofield settled her nicely behind the main division racing towards the Grandstand side, in about eighth place. She travelled well, improved (switching to the centre of the track) passing the 300m, challenged at the 100m and finished a bit too well for score by a long neck in a smart debut effort.
Thurlow jumped well from her wide draw (14) and raced handy to the pace on the Grandstand side in about fourth spot to the final 100m. She then ran on well to finish second in a nice debut.
Dagny was a bit slow to move, settled midfield with the main leading pack, she put in a run passing the 300m to be in a challenging position at the 200m and then kept battling on for a sound third.
Miss Idyllic began well, raced close to the pace, challenged at the 150m and then held on well for fourth, beaten just over a length.
The favourite Mihalic, a Listed winner at this track on debut on 4 October, began well and settled just behind the leading division in about sixth spot. She switched into clear running at the 300m but just battled on from that point to finish (4.9 lengths) seventh.
