Pasadena Girl wins 2015 Talindert Stakes Listed $120,000 at Flemington (VIC) 2yo, 1100m.
First starter Pasadena Girl scored a surprise win at $61 but it was a very good effort nevertheless. She settled in sixth place, tracking nicely between runners before getting through to third at the 300m. She challenged strongly at the 100m and then finished a bit too well to score by a length in an impressive debut performance.
Stay With Me, a daughter of 2006 Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Miss Finland (Redoute’s Choice), was ridden quietly back in seventh place before switching wider at the 500m to make her run. She challenged at the 200m and then fought gamely for a very good second on debut and looks the makings of a smart filly.
Take Pride shared the lead, took a clear advantage on passing the 400m the then fought on very well for a good third.
Jameka was held up by Craig Williams behind runners on the rails side. But she was checked when going for an inside run at the 300m, losing several lengths, before running on again for (3.4 lengths) fourth.
Brooklyn raced just behind the leading group, put in a run at the 300m and then battled on for (4.2 lengths) fifth.
