Slightly Sweet appreciated dropping back in distance from her seventh at her latest run over 2000m at Rosehill on 28 March to win well over 1400m here. She travelled nicely in ninth place on the rails, behind a good tempo, before improving between runners on straightening. Kathy O’Hara angled her into clear running at the 200m and she produced a strong finishing burst to win with something in hand by almost a length, putting up a smart performance.

Anyaas had a nice trip from her inside barrier (1) racing in fifth spot on the rails and stuck to the inside on turning for home to challenge at the 200m. She then kept fighting on well for a good (0.8 lengths) second.

Bjorn Baker-trained Sebrina was last in the 11-horse field to the 800m before improving shortly afterwards. She moved up (wide out) nearing the home turn and ran on well for a very promising third, stepping up in class here.

Press Report was seventh on the rails, improved between runners on turning for home. She got a split to be in a challenging position at the 100m and then fought on for a sound (1.5 lengths) fourth.

The favourite Peeping enjoyed a good run in fourth place, moved up well nearing the home turn and took a narrow lead at the 200m. But she tired a little on that effort over the latter stages for (1.6 lengths) fifth, after seeming to have every chance.
